 The sequel to the excellent Mega CD shooter, Keio's flying squadron, which sat firmly in the Cotton/Magical Chase camp and held it's head high against such classics. Keio 2 takes the character, and places her in a crazy, richly diverse game which is both a horizontal shooter and a platform game. It succeeds in both genres, and the graphic design and some of the level design and tasks you have to complete are just drug induced madness!. It's plainly obvious that this game is Japanese, and almost has that old Konami feel to it - you wouldn't be surprised it you were told that the programmers worked on Goemon or Parodius!. There's a level where you have to run away from a mob of angry townspeople, a section where you're locked in a room with nothing but a huge hand about 3 times your size, to help get you out - I'm sure you get the idea!. To top it all off, the game features some really high production values, with great graphics and sound and lots of animated intro's and cut scenes. If you liked the original, enjoy platform games, shooters, amime-based games, original games and humourous games, you'll love this. That's just about everyone then. *The Japanese version is very rare now.

 Great Boxing game which at first appears to be too slow to be fun, and actually turns out to be one of the best Boxing games available!. Once you've had a few fights and your character is sufficiently built up, the game becomes much faster and thus takes on a new lease of life. The computer A.I. is actually quite good, so even 1-player bouts are interesting, but it's the 2-player game which is the most fun.

 SNK's first fighting game for the Saturn and also the first game to use the Dual-ROM system, the ROM cart holds both background and sample data while the rest of the game is streamed from the CD, and the end result is super fast loading (twice as fast as the Neo-Geo CD). Featuring every sample, sound effect, background layer and frame present in the massive Neo-Geo cart, SNK did a sterling job with this one and even found space to add a few extra things for lucky Saturn owners willing to spend just that bit more (7800 yen) on a game. Featuring 24 initially selectable characters, with Saisyu Kusanagi and Omega Rugal (the bosses) bringing the total up to a respectable 26!. As is the custom with all Saturn KOF titles this ain't for novices and is difficult enough to give even the most seasoned of fighting game mentalists a kicking, this "IS" hardcore, make no mistake!!

Utterly flawless conversion of KOF'96, running side by side with the Neo-Geo cart, the only thing that gave away the Saturn version was the loading screen & slightly muffled sound samples. Even Neo-Geo zealots had to acknowledge how damn close this came to being perfect, which is a testament to it's quality.
With it's monster roster of 29! characters it's gonna take a while to master & then there's the Team-Edit option which extends the life of the game even further.
The only people who will be dissapointed at first will be those who mastered one of the 4 characters in '95 who have been replaced in KOF'96 but then again i'd rather play with Leona, than her '95 equivalent, Heidern, so in most cases it works out for the better.
Great story & plot development, the new characters make an impact & the soundtrack totally kicks ass. classic. This "IS" hardcore, make no mistake!!
