Quite simply one of the best driving games ever made. Due to the fact that it's a superb conversion, it's generally regarded as a better home game than the Saturn's conversion of Daytona USA. Forget Gran Turismo, it was never anywhere near as good as Sega Rally! The game, as mentioned before, is a superb conversion of the arcade, running at a constant 30fps, with very little clipping, and is just as good now as the day it was released - that feeling of beating your time by 1/100th of a second will never get old! Amazingly, the home version actually plays better than the arcade, and features some of the best joypad 'feeling' of any racing game: the CS team must have made some sort of deal with the devil, because you somehow seem to actually 'feel' the different road surfaces, and the traction your car has when driving over them, and the Saturn game also doesn't really contain any of the slightly floaty feeling of the arcade, which was even more prominent on the sequel in the arcades and on the Dreamcast. Because of this, despite only having 4 tracks and 3 cars (1 hidden), Sega Rally on the Saturn is better than any other Sega Rally game available. Truly a masterpiece, even 20 years after it's release! Sega themselves seem unable to better it: the PS2 port might look sharper but the all-important handling/control/gameplay isn't worthy of cleaning the tyres of the Saturn game.
